Chuck Robbins to Report His First Quarter as Cisco’s CEO

When Cisco reports its fourth-quarter earnings today after the markets close, it will be the first time that the company makes with the CEO Chuck Robbins fully in charge.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expect Cisco to report earnings of 56 cents a share, on revenue of $ 12700000000. And while meeting the expectations of the quarterly Via will be seen as a key reference point for the beginning of the mandate of Robbins there will be plenty more to see the report and the conference call to follow not only the figures.

Cisco is already some measures of a different company than when Robbins was elected in May to replace John Chambers. First, the entire leadership team has changed. Moreover, he added and subtracted from its business lines. In June, Cisco has invested $ 635 million to acquire the company OpenDNS cloud security.

In July, the company sells its television business set-top boxes of Technicolor in France, in a blow to conduct one of the largest deals of Chambers of the time, the $ 7000000000 acquisition of Scientific Atlanta, completed in 2005. It has also recently made another agreement on Invicta, a business unit of storage composed Whiptail heritage, boot storage flash memory Cisco acquired in 2013 for $ 415 million.

Robbins said it is contemplating the most significant changes in Cisco, using phrases such as "operational rigor" in public discussions about their plans, a suggestion that most of the business units and jobs could be on the table cut. Today is the first time you face probing questions from analysts on how these plans are taking shape. It seems that the changes so far have been small and larger are on the way.

There is still much work to do. Cisco continues to struggle with silos that harm their business efficiency and confuse customers. And there is still a significant investment in software that, in time, basically remake the networking industry at the top of which is currently located. These are just two ideas, and here are a few more. The Robbins was beginning.
